On May 9, the General Administration of Customs released the import and export situation from January to April 2022. According to customs statistics, from January to April this year, the export volume of furniture and its parts was 145.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1%; The export volume of textile yarn, fabric and its products was 310.88 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%; The export volume of lamps, lighting devices and their parts was 87.58 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%; The export volume of ceramic products was 56.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%.

From the single month of April, the export volume of textile yarn, fabric and its products was 78.1 billion yuan; The export volume of furniture and its parts was 38.51 billion yuan; The export volume of ceramic products was 15.33 billion yuan; The export volume of lamps, lighting devices and their parts was 23.46 billion yuan.

Overall, in the first four months of this year, China’s total import and export value was 12.58 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.9% over the same period last year. Among them, the export was 6.97 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.3%; Imports reached 5.61 trillion yuan, an increase of 5%; The trade surplus was 1.36 trillion yuan, an increase of 39.2%.

In terms of international trade relations, in the first four months, ASEAN was the largest trading partner. The total trade value between China and ASEAN was 1.84 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.2%, accounting for 14.6% of China’s total foreign trade value. The EU is the second largest trading partner. The total value of trade between China and the EU was 1.73 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.8%, accounting for 13.8%. The United States is the third largest trading partner. The total value of China US trade was 1.56 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.7%, accounting for 12.4%. South Korea is the fourth largest trading partner, and the total trade value between China and South Korea was 764.92 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4%, accounting for 6.1%. Over the same period, China’s imports and exports to countries along the “the Belt and Road” totaled 3.97 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.4%.
