In the first six months of 2020, Vietnam’s export of wood and forest products increased by 3.9% year on year


According to the statistics of the General Administration of forestry of the Ministry of agriculture and rural development of Vietnam, in the second quarter of 2020, Vietnam’s export of wood and forest products reached US $2.18 billion, down 20% and 11.3% respectively compared with the same period in 2019 and the first quarter in 2020.

Specifically, Vietnam’s exports of wood and forest products to the United States reached US $1.03 billion, down 18% and 33.4% year-on-year compared with the same period in 2019 and the first quarter in 2020, respectively; its exports to China reached US $360 million, up 20% and 10% year-on-year compared with the same period in 2019 and the first quarter in 2020, respectively; its exports to Europe reached US $180 million, Compared with the same period of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020, the export volume of wood and forest products to Japan is up to 355 million US dollars, equivalent to 8% growth in the same period of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020; the export volume of wood and forest products to South Korea is up to 234 million US dollars, down 5% and 18% year-on-year respectively, compared with the same period of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020.

In the first six months of 2020, Vietnam’s exports of wood and forest products reached 11.75 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.9% year on year.
