Vietnam has become the second largest exporter of wooden furniture in Australia
According to the Ministry of industry and trade of Vietnam, in the first half of this year, the country has become the second largest supplier of wooden furniture to Australia, with exports reaching US $103 million, a year-on-year increase of 72.1%.
According to the statistics of the International Trade Center (ITC), the import value of wooden furniture in Australia reached 139 million US dollars in June, an increase of 9.7% compared with June last year.
In the first half of this year, the import value of wooden furniture in Australia reached 872 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 47.7%. Among them, wooden seats ranked first, with an import volume of 358 million US dollars, an increase of 66.3%. In addition, the import of living room and dining room furniture soared by 46.5% year-on-year to US $281 million, accounting for 32.2% of the total wooden furniture imported from Vietnam.
In the first half of the year, the proportion of wooden furniture from Vietnam accounted for 11.8% of the total import value of this category in Australia, an increase of 1.7 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
Australian wooden furniture is mainly imported from China, Vietnam and Indonesia.
